This is a large map of the City of Edmonton. Each contour layer represents 25 metres of elevation. The North Saskatchewan River flows northeast through the city. The Anthony Henday ring road was used as the extents of the map. It is neat to identify the era when the neighbourhoods were built just by looking at their design; the gridded downtown area is very distinguishable from the new suburbs around the ring road. I’m excited to see what the old municipal airport will look like in the future.
Size: 17" x 23"
Layers of 1/8″ Baltic birch wood are laser-engraved and cut before being stained and joined. The ready-to-hang maps are encased in plexi-glass and a custom-made frame.
