A bathymetry map of the Great Lakes. This map is to scale and completely accurate. Each layer represents 60 metres of depth. It is crazy to see how deep Lake Superior is (about 360 metres!) compared to the other lakes. You can also notice how the geology changes in the area: there are many, many smaller lakes in the north east portion of the map which is predominantly Canadian Shield geography while the southern portion has many winding rivers throughout the alluvial farmlands of the midwest United States.
Size: 17" x 23"
Layers of 1/8″ Baltic birch wood are laser-engraved and cut before being stained and joined. The ready-to-hang maps are encased in plexi-glass and a custom-made frame.
