A topographic map of Canada. This map covers the whole geographic area of Canada proper (Alaska or mainland USA is not included). Each layer represents 500 m of elevation, showing parts of Canada at over 2500 m. Major rivers and lakes are depicted on the map. I chose not to show the provincial and territorial boundaries to focus on the beautiful geography that composes Canada. I'm especially surprised to see the mountain ranges on the islands in the northern Canada. The highest point in Canada is Mount Logan at almost 6000 m and is located in the northwest portion of the map. Because this mountain (and many other mountains in Western Canada) is so small relative to the rest of Canada, its elevation is indistinguishable on the map as it would only show up as a pin prick).
Size: 17" x 23"
Layers of 1/8″ Baltic birch wood are laser-engraved and cut before being stained and joined. The ready-to-hang maps are encased in plexi-glass and a custom-made frame.
